About the Church Council
The system of government was changed in 1998 from the Official Board structure to the present Church Council structure.
The Membership of the Church Council is comprised of a Chairperson, Vice-chairperson, Past Chairperson, Secretary, Church Treasurer, Member(s) of the Order of Ministry of the Pastoral Charge, Lay Delegates to Presbytery, General UCW President, as well as the chairperson of and one other delegate from each of the council teams (approximately 40 members).
The work of the church is carried out by 8 teams: Worship and Music, Pastoral Care, Education, Sunday School, Outreach, Finance, Property, and Ministry and Personnel.
The Board of Trustees, although not a Team of the Church Council, reports directly to the congregation. There are nine members on this committee.
Church Council Meetings
The Church Council presently meets the third Wednesday of the month (except July and August). The teams meet separately at 7:00 p.m. and the entire Church Council meets at 8:00 p.m.
