Welcome to the St. James and St. John United Church website. Our church and Maple Glen United Church form the Newcastle Pastoral Charge.

Our weekly services are attended by a congregation drawn from nearly three hundred families, and our guests and friends. We also have a large and active Sunday School.

Located in Miramichi, New Brunswick, the church was built following the Great Miramichi Fire of 1825. The church and grounds were designated as a provincial historic site in 2004. Read more about our church history.

Here is a link to the Revised Common Lectionary, which Rev. John uses for his scripture readings each week.

The United Church has posted information about Haiti on this website. This includes information about how to give on line.

A letter was received from the Moderator of the United Church of Canada, Mardi Tindal, concerning the Copenhagen talks and her views on the Copenhagen climate change talks and how they fell apart. You can read about this on the United Church website.. There you will find ideas about how together we can address the challenge of climate change by participating in God’s Abundant Healing of Soul, Community and Creation.
