Welcome to the St. James and St. John United Church website. Our church and Maple Glen United Church form the Newcastle Pastoral Charge.

Our weekly services are attended by a congregation drawn from nearly three hundred families, and our guests and friends. We also have a large and active Sunday School.

Located in Miramichi, New Brunswick, the church was built following the Great Miramichi Fire of 1825. The church and grounds were designated as a provincial historic site in 2004. Read more about our church history.

Volunteers are needed to monitor the sound system for church services and for transmission over the radio. This is a vital part of the ministry of our church in this community. Please contact the church office if you can help.

Do you like to sing? Would you like to share your love of singing with the Sunday School? If so, you are the person we are searching for. The Sunday School is currently seeking a music leader who would be willing to donate 15-20 minutes of their time on Sunday mornings to share their talent with the children. No one need tell you how important and vital the music program is to the Sunday School. Please carefully and prayerfully consider this matter. Contact Kimberley at if you have any questions.
